COLLECTION METADATA FOR NIMA-DOI-10 DIGITAL ORTHORECTIFIED IMAGE 10-METER RESOLUTION

Title NIMA-DOI-10, [Digital Orthorectified Image 10-meter resolution].

Short title NIMA-DOI-10.

Responsible party United States. National Imagery and Mapping Agency.

Scope and purpose Digital Orthorectified Imagery, 10-meter resolution, is intended eventually to provide coverage for all world landmasses; as of 2000, it is primarily of the northern hemisphere with limited coverage of the southern hemisphere. The source of data is CIB (Controlled Image Base); initially this seems to have been mainly SPOT satellite images. CIB data are produced from digital images that are compressed and reformatted to conform to the RPF (Raster Product Format) Standard. It may be downloaded from the NIMA public-data Website. See also the webpage for DOI 10.

Content type Images from satellites; digital.

Creation date 2001.

Geographic locations

Description Geographic locations and regions described by latitude/longitude coordinates.

Metadata mapping MARC 21 fields 034 d, e, f, g (coded cartographic mathematical data---coordinates) and 255 c (cartographic mathematical data---statement of coordinates)..
